A Glimpse Into My Life

"A Glimpse Into My Life" by AJ Rasmussen

April 15th 2012 was the last day of my life, or so I thought, that day and much of the next three years. I am at my three year mark and to be honest, much of it has been pure hell. It feels as though, to much of my family and friends, I died and to me it has felt as tho they died. Imagine losing dang near everyone you know, in the blink of an eye, or in my case, one horrible decision. The inner voice, I believe to have been the Holy Spirit, said to me at approximately 10:30am that early Spring morning. "Turn right and go home, or turn left and possibly go to jail." The choice I made has haunted me since, I took the left. The arrest did happen and now here I sit, aside from a miracle, for the rest of my God given life. I admittedly, yet understandably, have waisted much of my last three years. Not fully tho, as I have pushed myself to climb out of bed and look within, look to God and allow Him to work on cleaning me up from the inside out. It has been a long and painful process with much work yet to be done, but for the first time in even longer than the three years, I am beginning to see purpose for my life and feel hope for my future, experiencing a peace and joy that had been long lost. I have a handful of people to thank for my making it through to this day. My Mother and best friend Annette as well as other God given friends and the new friends I have made through my profile on writeaprisoner.com. I look forward to continuing to meet new people, allowing God to change my life for the better, and number one, I must give full praise to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And from here, all any of us can do, is take one step at a time, one day at a time, set goals and keep our eyes on the prize!! I hope you will take the time to check out this wonderful ministry, founded to help inmates who have no outside support or encouragement, as well as the families, left behind by their incarcerated loved one. www.facebook.com/cornerstoneministrycm
