Be A Follower

By AJ Rasmussen

Matthew 8:19b

Growing up we were always told, "Don't be a follower". I am writing today to share with you an exception. In Matthew 8:19b, a scribe says to Jesus, "Teacher, I wll follow you wherever you go". The one person we ought to follow is Jesus, even for those of you who don't believe likely can't argue with the example of Christ spelled out in the New Testament of the Bible. I've heard from a fellow believer that he shares  with those who don't believe that for them the word God can be used as an acronym for Good Ordinary Direction;

To Phillip and Andrew, "If anyone  serves me, they must follow me" (John 12:26)Paul to Timothy from prison, Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from me..." These were words Paul received from God (2 Tum 1:12)Peter to the exiled, "You have been called, Christ suffered for you, leaving you, an example so that you might follow in His footsteps" 1 Pet 2:21Jesus told Matthew "Follow Me" )Matthew 9:9To His Disciples- "Deny Yourself, take up your cross (burdens)and Follow Me" (Matthew 16:24)

With these verses shared, my recommendation is to be a follower......of Christ
